David Ross Metallic Glazed Pottery Lamps with mica shades
We recently began working with Sonoma, CA potter David Ross. One of his specialties particularly melds with our aesthetic and with our mica and parchment paper lampshades and that is his work with metallic glazes applied to the highest quality English-style porcelain. The high content metallic glaze is applied to the dried piece and fired once to 2300 degrees, causing the metals to be absorbed into the porcelain, producing a very strong bond. David’s pieces are inspired by hammered copper and brass, but do not intend to imitate them.
As these lamps sell we are able to replace them, though some leeway is needed regarding exact size and glaze surface since each is hand-thrown and hand-worked. It can be said that David is a skilled artisan with years of experience and his pieces are individual works of art.
Each of his pieces can be combined with a number of our mica or parchment paper lampshades to create individualized lamps that fit comfortably not only in Arts and Crafts or Mission interiors but in many different decorative schemes.
We are excited to introduce David Ross and look forward to working with him to make beautiful lamps to light your home or office. Please contact us for details.
